"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" Mac Kills His Dad - Season 7 Episode 10
Episode Summary
In this episode, Mac's father, Luther, is set to be released from prison, and Mac becomes paranoid that Luther will kill him for testifying against him years earlier. The gang, always eager to meddle in each other's lives, comes up with various bizarre schemes to "help" Mac protect himself. Dennis and Charlie decide to stage a fake death for Mac in order to trick Luther into thinking he's already dead, while Dee offers to seduce Luther to distract him.
Meanwhile, Frank takes a different approach, trying to bond with Luther over their shared criminal backgrounds. Throughout the episode, Mac grapples with his fear and guilt, convinced his father will seek revenge, only to face increasingly ridiculous situations due to the gang's interference.
In a darkly comedic twist, Luther is revealed to be entirely uninterested in killing Mac, and the gang’s elaborate plans prove unnecessary. The episode ends with Mac realizing how far off the mark his fears were, but the gang remains oblivious, still caught up in their absurd antics.
The title "Mac Kills His Dad" is an ironic play on the gang's paranoia and over-the-top reactions, as no one ends up killing anyone.
